Chery cooperates to develop Indonesia's electric vehicle technology center

PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) and the Center for Vocational and Productivity Training (BBPVP) in Bekasi, West Java, have officially launched a partnership to develop Indonesia's EV ecosystem, with BBPVP Bekasi becoming the main training center for Chery's technicians, and will also train the Indonesian automotive industry's Skilled Workers.The Minister of Manpower said the collaboration is highly aligned with the government's efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the era of energy transition, and hoped that the synergy between the industry and the vocational training institution will continue to expand for the sustainable development of the country's automotive industry. Chery aims to enhance the technical and non-technical capabilities of Chery dealers and share knowledge with BBPVP in order to develop a skilled workforce capable of meeting the challenges of EV development, according to the head of Chery Automobile Sales Indonesia's branding and marketing department. The training center is equipped with various training modules in line with EV operational standards to ensure that technicians have an in-depth understanding of EV technology. It can accommodate more than 20 to-be trainees and provide them with knowledge and skills training related to EVs. Chery donated a Chery E5 electric car equipped with charging facilities for trainees to practically operate during the learning process and acquire skills such as diagnosis, maintenance and troubleshooting of electric vehicle systems. Chery plans to organize a national skills competition for Chery dealership technicians at BBPVP Bekasi, and the winners will have the opportunity to represent Indonesia in a global competition in China, showcasing the potential and level of local EV technicians on the international stage.
